Description: 
Our client, located in the Altoona area, is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Client Advocate. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive client advocacy services, encompassing assessment, intake, and assistance, with a steadfast commitment to fostering the self-sufficiency of our clients. This position involves maintaining positive relationships, adhering to professional boundaries, and ensuring positive outcomes for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Client Advocacy:
    • Respectfully perform all aspects of client advocacy, including assessment, intake, and assistance.
    • Demonstrate a commitment to building clients' self-sufficiency.
  1. Service Coordination:
    • Utilize community services effectively to address client needs.
    • Collaborate with county and regional human services organizations and emergency financial assistance programs.
  1. Administrative Tasks:
    • Perform associated administrative tasks, including accurate record-keeping and timely reporting.
    • Complete and submit time sheets in accordance with the payroll schedule.
  1. Outreach and Collaboration:
    • Assist with outreach endeavors as required to expand the reach and impact of our services.
    • Maintain positive and professional working relationships with colleagues and coworkers.
  1. Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Social Services or Human Development, with a minimum of two years of experience, or five years of relevant experience.
    • Practical experience with county and regional human services organizations and emergency financial assistance programs.
    • Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  1. Interpersonal Skills:
    • Professional communication skills, displaying compassion and confidentiality while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  1. Compliance:
    • Supportive of the mission of the Catholic Church.
    • Able to satisfactorily complete background checks and training applicable to diocesan requirements.
  1. Additional Requirements:
    • Must obtain prior approval from the Executive Director for any hours worked beyond 40 hours per week.
