Description: 
We are seeking a skilled Furnace Operator to join a reputable manufacturing company. This role involves following procedures to ensure product quality and safety while maintaining accurate records and abiding to company standards.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate induction melting furnaces and spectrographs, adhering to standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by following safety procedures, wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhering to high-temperature workplace protocols.
  • Load materials into the furnace, monitor temperatures, and make necessary adjustments to meet specifications.
  • Pour materials into molds and remove castings, shaking out any residual material.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes, motorized equipment, and burning torches to size materials appropriately.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report any issues promptly.
  • Record and maintain accurate procedural data.
  • Participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives, including 5S practices.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other stakeholders in a professional manner.

Requirements
Education/Experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience working in a Lean/ISO environment is preferred.
Skills/Competencies
  • Strong math and analytical skills.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to plan and accomplish goals using experience and sound judgment.
Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing requirements.
